Our Story
Founded in 2023, the Empathetic Athlete Incorporation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing health outcomes for athletes with mental illness. Empathetic Athlete Incorporation’s mission is to bring community awareness & support for mental illness through athleticism in the state of Florida. We provide medical scholarships to athletes with trauma stress disorders, eating disorders, concussions & other mental illnesses through novel, evidence-based therapies not often offered through University Athletic Programs & Sport Organizations

How We Fulfill Our Mission
Funding for the Empathetic Athlete Inc. is privileged to contribute to athletes within the state of Florida for medical scholarships providing financial assistance for the following:

Expense for physician medical visit to determine which specialized, evidence-based psychological (EMDR, ART, Neurofeedback, ro-DBT) and/or pharmacological therapies would be the best treatment course

Costs associated with diagnostic testing, psychological therapy and/or pharmacological therapies found to be medically necessary

Certain expenses for medically necessary specialists

When appropriate healthcare professional multi-disciplinary team meetings (MDT) to discuss athlete well-being & treatment plan
